So here is a little suggestion for all of you, waiting in earnest for the TOP 12 list tomorrow.

An extraordinary chance to relieve your mind (and mine) of any burden that you may be carrying through TGDC. As humans, we have all erred somewhere along this journey but did not have courage to share with anyone. So I have decided to open this confession box for you, so you can come and share whatever you want with us. Purge your mind of any guilt that you may be carrying, related to this contest.

All you need to do is to post an anonymous confession message - do not enter your name or email ID - just mention anonymous. Your IP will not be saved and I (sandip) promise you (GDC applicant), in writing, that this information shall have no bearing whatsoever to the results tomorrow.

This is completely voluntary. No one needs to respond. However if we find 100 (+1) confessions in the box tomorrow, we will not be surprised. To err is human - to confess divine.

All comments will be opened, unless there is any explicit reference to other individuals.

I wanted to confess and withdraw at some stage !! - i just thought - when we teach our own kids to stand up and speak the truth and paradoxically we grownups take the shortcut with lies, envy ! and Greed ! but i am not in Final 100 ! ...then still it matters ! I had proxy votes !! ....many many without my control !! ....lots of well wishers and huge number of my Institutional employees and over-zealous friends ! They just told me to shut up and follow the MAD RAT RACE ! .why hide ? ..i am at Guilt…. i am sending this message with my Particulars !! ... i have learnt my lesions !! so Com-on guys you too can take away your guilt if there is any !! ....who is divine ?

I am deeply humbled by the spirit of a true TGDC Fan - Dr. K.S. Anand.

Over the last 4 weeks, Dr. Anand has been a part of this journey with all of us. You have all read his comments. Love him or hate him - you can’t ignore him. I think he can rightfully lay claim to the longest numbers of hours logged on the TGDC site, the highest number of comments, and unflinching support, of course for the spirit of TGDC.

Dr. Anand started his journey with TGDC very early on. Clearly he was not in it because of the money. Heck he had already claimed a drivers seat on his brand new CEDIA!!

So why TGDC? Why spend countless number of hours in front of a computer screen, when one did not even make it to the TOP 100? Why wish all the best for the TOP 12 when there was nothing in it for him? These are some of the things which weighed deep on my mind (as I ploughed through and tried to make sense of some his rather intense mails).

Then last few days Dr. K.S. Anand fell silent. I missed him - often the lone commenter on some of my later posts. When the heat and dust had settled, and everyone had walked away, Dr. K.S.Anand nudged me up from my sleep, berated us for our slipping steps, and urged us to the call of duty.

“It is the spirit of TGDC stupid”, he yelled from the pulpit.

I am glad to say that Dr. K.S. Anand is back online and he has shown what it takes to be a true fan. Here are few comments he posted online just a few minutes back, as we chomped on Tikkas and gulped our drinks down at the 19th hole.

I dedicate these comments to the TOP 12 contesting couples, the esteemed jury and to the organizers of this event, Mitsubishi Cedia. May god bless us all.

Dr. Anand is a very enthusiastic and full of life person. I interacted with him on facebook and we have formed a pact….. I will be his driver for whenever he is in Mumbai and needs to go drinking…. coz I don’t mind tagging along with the peene waalas though I don’t drink at all…. I hang around for the cruise (chakhnaa?) and they need me for the breath analyzer smile)

Also some of his posts were going haywire so we had a discussion and mutually decided to reflect a little more before posting anything….. I guess that’s what internet etiquette is about being self censured rather than having people block you for spamming…..

Am hoping he’ll return to TGDC today as otherwise it’s been pretty dull lately with the only funny stuff being on the fakegdc blog…. the invisible blogger who everyone can easily spot smile) by Josh!!! oh is it by Gosh??? oh ok wink

I am deeply touched by your great gesture ....and that too at a time when you would be busy around the clock to get the event going perfectly…...I don’t know what to say ....I was too surprised to see a Post on me !! ..which i never expected even in wild dreams!... I was off for a jungle trip to Interiors of Kalakad -Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve range but my heart was always back here .......I couldn’t see an Tiger there but i got spotted here! ....Sandip , you have TAMED me ! .. I behaved like a spoiled brat, irritated the TGDC Team frequently, ...may be i was harsh at times and blunt occasionally ....and rarely sober….but believe me it was all coming from my heart…..and today after seeing myself on your Post - i am excited, my emotions are running high… I don’t know how to return thanks! and saying Thanks would be a MEAN thing for this Magnanimity !........ ...I will Definitely Cherish this moment for a long time to come and TGDC- 2009 is engraved on my long term Memory !....Today, I feel no less than a Winner .....at the end of the day Kids can not stay away from Mother .....I too can not stay away from this wonderful concept of TGDC !! ...One among the Best thing I loved was the ” Time for a little confession ” ....and it was a great relief for me thereafter ! .....

.....Sorry , Sorry, I mean it, for all those sharp stones I had thrown across toward TGDC Camp!........Today, I am standing here with a white Flag - with this Flag of honor ....Long Live TGDC ! ....

Looking Back at TGDC 2009 !!

Addressed to All across the Fence !

I went through all the expert comments without missing a word ! Every soul here has a Valid point.I am sure even the expert Jury and the filtering team may not be at peace I . .definitely some degree of guilt remains in some corner ! ....To err is human .....then who is divine here?

I too stand on the other side with 959 other couples ! The concept was excellent ! which gave me a drive and new dimension to my e-life ! ..The best learning process online ! ...The execution of this wonderful concept had some short comings ...and the process got refined as the days passed by ...i was living with only TGDC mania ......TGDC became my routine and i was breathing,eating,thinking and dreaming only TGDC ! ....sleeping just for 3 hours ...begging for more votes ..skipping my favorite die-hard hobby - Jogging ! ...keeping the Computer ON 24x15 days - Glued to the screen with screams bypassing Routine domestic rituals ...driving in haste to reach the Hospital for this emergency to view my progress while i was on road ...attending to my critically ill patients on Life support systems and spending time with their anxious relatives for daily updates ( NO Compromise on that- thats our ethic) then precious breaks in between ....waiting for more - more than - Yeh dil mange more ! ..excitement following every single vote-mail from TGDC ! ...The Inbox was lively and beautiful with bold dark unread messages from TGDC TEAM ! getting the thrill with every new vote or occasional Testimonial ! I too had a mania to remain on Page # 1. My Over-zealous friends and supporters (2200 in my Institution with whom i am here for last 15 years) gave me too much of love in terms of Votes ! that could have been the reason of my Questionable disqualification ! and me biting the dust ! .....QUEEN says - No one bites the dust ! ... may be i licked !.....
The negative publicity can not be ruled out as majority being on the other side of Fence ! ...I am proud of my New Cedia spirit ..but still feel let down - may be i have to blame myself ! ... i must have excelled professional begging !! for votes !

..No filtration process is perfect and ideal ....loop holes and deviations are inherent part of any stream of Statistics especially in quantization! as mentioned on top by expert commentator.

Rightly said by bharathi ghanashyam - there is always a next time !!

Eclipse chasers set for flight of lifetime

It's the opportunity of a lifetime and many Indians are not about to miss it. They are making a beeline for a special flight to watch a total solar eclipse next week from 41,000 feet above ground - even if it means shelling out Rs.70,000 for a window seat!

In fact almost 80 percent of the window seats on the chartered flight have already been sold for the July 22 celestial event.

The flight is being organised by Cox and Kings India, a travel agency, under the technical guidance of Eclipse Chasers Athenaeum (ECA), a wing of the Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE).

A JetLite 737-700 has been chartered for people to watch the century's longest solar eclipse. The flight will last three hours. It will take off from New Delhi at 4.30 a.m., fly towards Gaya in Bihar and hover over the city while the eclipse is on.

Gaya is one of the regions where the eclipse will be total.

The aircraft window seats have been divided into two categories. The sun side seats are the 21 window seats on the right side of the aircraft. 'The aircraft will be intercepting the middle of the eclipse shadow at 6.26 a.m. at a height of 41,000 feet. Eclipse chasers sitting along the sun side seats will be able to photograph the eclipse, while the chasers sitting along the earth side seats will be able to photograph the lunar shadow moving over the earth.

SPACE has planned a series of activities for the passengers aboard the flight.

'There will be an astro magic show, explanation of the eclipse before and during the actual totality, a question and answer session and an eclipse parade.

The total eclipse is expected to last six minutes and 44 seconds, making it the longest till 2132. It is starting at sunrise near Surat in Gujarat.

The shadow of the moon will be so large during this eclipse that even at sunrise the duration of totality will be over three minutes. The shadow very quickly moves across the breadth of India towards Arunachal Pradesh. It spans a third of the entire path in India, 900 km out of 2,500 km.

Ratan Tata, the head of Tata Motors, handed over the keys to customs official Ashok Raghunath Vichare at a Tata showroom in the city of Mumbai.
Tata Motors says it has received more than 200,000 orders for what has been billed as the common man’s car. Tata Motors believes the car, which costs US$2,025 will revolutionise travel in India. Some 200,000 people initially placed orders for the Nano, to vie to be the first recipients of the car.

Is Nano a curse or a blessing for the Indian Roads ?????????

I tried to mimic a professional beggar !! and alas !
I could get only their sympathy but no votes ! ....few gave me their
unconditional irritability ! ...a frowned look !..... few were scared ofTGDC
swine flu e-variant ! ......Many turned off the head and some complaint
of their system shut down ! and some had a genuine complaint of not
getting the confirmatory mail .....ultimately I survived with few
votes in my kitty ! ...there are good people around too !! ...but getting extinct !! ....and bad Dinosaurs are flourishing !!.......I gave my vote to my preferred candidate but no contestant made me happy !...............

Testimonials !

Number of one liner Testimonials are important or the quality and
content of the Testimonial is important ?

Going through numerous Testimonials I gather couple of points -
My Observations -

1. Most of the Couples are made for each other with so much of
bliss and harmony !
2. Every Couple is out of the house exploring on Indian roads ! ....causing Traffic Jams !!
where are our Indian Counter-parts of -Marco Polo,
Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama, Ferdinand Magellan ?
3. Many of them would put Legendary Michael Schumacher,
Jenson Button, Felipe Massa or our own Narain Karthikeyan to Shame !
With their Speedometer !
4. Some have very high Energy level that - it has to be tapped and
converted for Domestic Utility !
5. Some were born only for the steering wheels ! ..Is Mitsubishi
listening ? They can be employed as Test Drivers !
6. Virtually everyone is out on roads leaving essential domestic
rituals & No complaint comes from kid's school for absence or
incomplete home-work !
7. Finally, everyone deserves to be Number One !!

What TGDC has taught me !

I thank TGDC for giving this wonderful opportunity and a purposeful exposure online ! learnt many things here which would definitely help me in various aspects of my life....
I was introduced to Twitter. ..my Orkut got expanded ! My Facebook got a new face lift !.......and the truth is - i am still in the infancy of Blogging !...Life online got refined and fine tuned !...it has become more purposeful and has given a new dimension to my life ! ...made new friends, got old ones in touch and got exposed to numerous Communities.
Now i have to justify my e-existence in rewarding way and with the pursuit of expanding my social horizon.

and what spontaneously came to my mind was this ........Miles to go before i sleep ! but alas ! little time left over to cover those miles !!yet to give final touches to my Profile !sitting on the edge ! with my keyboard in stress and my co-inhabitants in distress ...for the agony i have been undergoing ! sleepless nights for last 2 weeks ! Jogging route is deserted, my fans wondering where this Crazy Jogger is ! ....this irregularity is paying me heavy ! ... gained more mass ! .....neighbors are not hearing me across !...my department people are seeing me in rush and wondering about my irritability ! where has my patience gone ? ....i have become abrupt and to the point in all conversations !....my e-mail friends i have dis-owned for not voting for me actively - the way i wanted....others are missing my jokes and attachments !! ...i nutshell .. life is in Chaos with your Contest !!! .....BUT i am still enjoying all these moments !!

Mitsubishi Cedia Sports The Great Driving Challenge

one fine day i happened to get - mail from Mitsubishi Cedia Sports The Great Driving Challenge and with no second thoughts i registered, created my profile and proceeded to collect votes ! Now i realize that its not easy to collect many votes if you don't have many net-active friends who have time and interest to cast their votes ! Some may treat these as Spam mail ! who wants to Risk a virus or Trojan or spyware by clicking an unknown link !! Even Orkut does not allow these links to be forwarded in the scrapbook !!
I think only Pooling the Maximum votes shouldn't be the mazor criteria. The Contestant may be good but may lack wider net circle and vice versa others may have excellent social net-working but may not have time for driving !! lets see how this contest moves forward in the coming days !!
